Meet Mr. Miss Music Nerd!

Meet McDoc, my biggest fan and supporter!

Here we are at Michigan Opera Theatre, after hearing L’Elisir d’Amore.

We were married in June, 2007. Here we are singing “People Will Say We’re in Love” at our wedding reception:

McDoc is a 3rd-year resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Tufts Medical Center. I asked him how he wanted to be described here and here’s what he said:

Mr. Miss Music Nerd lives vicariously through MMN. He grew up in a house where music was on most times and singing along, for better of for worse, was the norm. He played trombone and sang in junior high, and sang again in high school. Now he charms his way into community choruses and tries very hard to not to get asked to leave. His goal is to sing in performance all the big requiems, i.e., Mozart, Berlioz, Brahms, Verdi, Fauré, Duruflé. Two down, four to go. Oh, and style points for historically significant venues, you know, like singing Gabrieli in San Marco di Venezia (on the list as well). Is it too much to ask to sing Verdi’s Requiem in La Scala? McDoc also wheedles his way into poetry workshops trying not to draw too much attention and jot down some blank verse from time to time.

He was too modest to tell you that a couple of his poems were published in The Inner World of Medical Students: Listening to Their Voices in Poetry by Johanna Shapiro. He is also a polyglot, a polymath, and in my unbiased opinion, a hunk! 😉

  3. Hi Miss Music Nerd,

How pleasant to meet you this morning at St. John’s! We hope you will make it your church home while in Boston.

I wish I had a cool music name like you. I’ll have to think of one.

    Cheers!

  4. Linda,
Reading about your “MMN” alter ego and seeing the photo of you and Brian singing at your wedding brings tears to my eyes. I couldn’t be happier for my long time friend Brian and look forward to meeting you in person.
Wishing you every success and happiness always.
